Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reported on July 26 as follows:

Thunderstorm activity in the Yosemite high country produced an intense bout of rainfall yesterday afternoon, beyond what was forecasted. As a result, flows on the Upper Tuolumne River into Hetch Hetchy Reservoir increased dramatically overnight, some of which is emerging as increased spill into the river channel below O’Shaughnessy Dam. Additional rainfall is expected today, although magnitudes appear to be lesser at this point, to be followed by drying conditions through the weekend.

Flows at the Cherry Creek-Tuolumne River confluence are currently estimated to approximately 2,000 cfs. If today’s thunderstorm activity produces additional intense rain, potential for flows of upwards of 2,500 cfs or more are possible. Otherwise, please expect flows to slowly decline from 2,000 cfs through the weekend. Holm and Kirkwood Powerhouse generation are scheduled at a constant rate through at least next Monday, with potential for a decrease in Kirkwood generation by the middle of next week.
