Updates to planned HHWP releases are detailed below. No significant changes to scheduled powerhouse generation through the coming weekend and into early next week.
Increased valve releases from O’Shaughnessy Dam are anticipated next week to accommodate valve testing and an environmental release pulse flow.
As always, we strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River. Flows are expected to vary significantly over the coming weeks and may differ from what is outlined in this message.
Cherry Reservoir
- Valve releases at approximately 6-7 cfs
- Holm Powerhouse will cycle between 50-950 cfs
- Flows ~950 cfs 5 PM to 8 AM
- Flows ~450 cfs 8 AM-9AM
- 30-100 cfs 10 AM to 5 PM
Lake Eleanor
- Valve releases at approximately 20 cfs
- Full and spilling approximately 150 cfs
- Note: spill will cease this Saturday May 7 due to flashboard installation (mid-day)
Hetch Hetchy Reservoir
- Kirkwood Powerhouse spill will cycle between 0-500 cfs
- Flows ~500 cfs 5 PM to 8 AM
- Flows 0 cfs 8 AM to 5 PM
- Valve releases will vary dramatically over the following week
- Friday May 6
- Saturday May 7 – Monday May 9
- Tuesday May 10
- 350 cfs, increasing to 700 cfs (late afternoon)
- Wednesday May 11
- 700-1,200 cfs throughout the day
- Thursday May 12
- 700-2,500 cfs through mid-day
- 4,100 cfs approx. 2 PM to 6 PM
- 2,200 – 1,200 6 PM into the night
- Friday May 13
- Ramping back down toward 200 cfs
