Below are planned releases from HHWP facilities the week of July 10^th. Releases from Hetch Hetchy and Cherry Reservoirs are reduced this week to promote reservoir refill.
Releases may increase by the weekend if necessary for managing additional snowmelt runoff in response to forecasted above-average temperatures.

 

We strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River. Flows will continue to vary significantly over the coming weeks as snowmelt runoff progresses.

 

Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.

 

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir

• Total flows below O’Shaughnessy have been reduced to approx. 4,000 cfs on Monday July 10^th
• Flows will remain at 4,000 cfs this week, until noted otherwise
• Near-term forecast uncertainty exists which may require additional release adjustments later in the week
• Notifications to be provided as conditions evolve and forecast verification comes in
• Kirkwood Powerhouse
• Spill of approximately 480 cfs from 19:00-08:00
• 100-150 cfs spill expected 08:00-19:00

 

Cherry Reservoir

• Total flows below Cherry have been reduced to approx. 500 cfs on Monday July 10^th
• Flows expected to remain at this rate through at least midweek
• Additional notifications to be provided as needed

• Holm Powerhouse flows will increase this week
• Approximately 550-600 cfs 23:00-16:00
• Approximately 900-950 cfs 16:00-23:00

 

Lake Eleanor

• Valve releases of 600-650 cfs
• Eleanor is not currently spilling; moderate spill rates of 50-200 cfs possible by the weekend
