Below are planned releases from HHWP facilities for the week of July 17.

Flows below Hetch Hetchy Reservoir will begin to vary significantly during the second half of the week as the reservoir fills and begins discharging over the spillway.

 

We strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River. Flows will continue to vary significantly over the coming weeks as snowmelt runoff progresses and reservoirs are operated at full or nearly full capacities. Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.

 

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir

• Valve releases from O’Shaughnessy are at approximately 1,750 cfs
• Reservoir expected to fill and spill beginning Wednesday, July 19
• Variable spill rates from 700 to 1,200 cfs are possible
• Total release (valves + spill) will increase to approximately 2,500 to 3,000 cfs
• Kirkwood Powerhouse
• Spill of approx. 550 cfs will occur around-the-clock until further notice

 

Cherry Reservoir

• Valve releases below Cherry Reservoir have been reduced to approx. 15 cfs
• Additional notifications to follow if significant changes are made

• Holm Powerhouse
• Approximately 950 cfs flows will continue this week, around-the-clock

 

Lake Eleanor

• Valve releases below Lake Eleanor have been reduced to approx. 20 cfs
• Modest valve increases are possible by early next week
• Additional notifications to follow if significant changes are made
