Flows below Hetch Hetchy Reservoir are steadily receding and expected to continue to do so this week and weekend as the reservoir continues to discharge over the spillway.

 

Flows below Holm Powerhouse have been increased to 700 cfs from 7AM until 11 AM daily, see details below.

 

We strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River. Flows will continue to subside over the coming weeks as snowmelt runoff recedes and reservoirs are operated at full or nearly full capacities. Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.

 

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir

• Reservoir is full and spilling
• Total release (valves + spill) are approximately 250 cfs
• Expected to remain in a range of 150-250 cfs through the weekend
• Kirkwood Powerhouse
• Spill will reduce incrementally this week
• Approx. 300 cfs around-the-clock Thursday
• Approx. 100 cfs around-the-clock Friday
• Near-zero spill Saturday - Sunday

 

Cherry Reservoir

• Valve releases below Cherry Reservoir are at approx. 15 cfs
• Additional notifications to follow if significant changes are made

• Holm Powerhouse
• Flows during rafting hours will increase this week
• 700 cfs from 7 AM until 11 AM (Thursday); 900+ cfs from 7 AM until 11 AM (Friday – until further notice)
• 120 cfs from 11 AM until 4 PM
• 800 cfs from 4 PM until 9 PM
• 120 cfs 9 PM until 7 AM the following day

 

 

Lake Eleanor

• Valve releases below Lake Eleanor have been reduced to approximately 20 cfs
• Additional notifications to follow if significant changes are made
