Good morning,
Hetch Hetchy Reservoir remains full this week, with water continuing to discharge over the spillway. Potential precipitation inputs associated with Hurricane Hilary may produce increased flows below the reservoir next week. At this time,
no significant changes to operations are planned. If changes do occur to forecasts and/or operations, additional notifications will be provided.
Flows below Holm Powerhouse will continue to produce maximum power generation pulses 07:00-11:00 every day through Labor Day, with the exception of August 23rd for the last slated ‘No Water Wednesday.’
We strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River.
Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.
Hetch Hetchy Reservoir
- Reservoir is full and spilling
- Total release (valves + spill) are approximately 200 cfs
- Expected to remain in a range of 150-250 cfs through the weekend*
- *Spill rates may vary due to thunderstorm activity
- Rainfall early next week may produce increased spill rates
- Forecasts are uncertain at this time
- If considerable spill is forecasted, notification will be provided
- Kirkwood Powerhouse
- No spill per current power generation schedule
- If increases to power generation are scheduled that would produce considerable spill, notification will be provided
Cherry Reservoir
- Valve releases below Cherry Reservoir are at approx. 17 cfs
- Holm Powerhouse
- Normal flows during rafting hours (0700-1100) will continue, with additional evening pulses to follow power demands
- Approx. 950 cfs from 7 AM - 11 AM
- 60 cfs from 11 AM - 4 PM
