Hetch Hetchy Water & Power has reduced all reservoir streamflow releases to minimum environmental required flows as of this week, with Holm Powerhouse continuing to make recreational releases during the 0700-1100 period each day through
the Labor Day holiday. Flows on the Tuolumne will be reduced significantly beginning September 5th.
Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.
Hetch Hetchy Reservoir
- Reservoir came off spill early this week, a new record for late-season spillway discharge
- Total stream releases are approx. 130 cfs
- Stream release will reduce to approx. 100 cfs on Friday, Sept 1st
- Kirkwood Powerhouse
Cherry Reservoir
- Valve releases below Cherry Reservoir are at approx. 17 cfs
- Holm Powerhouse
- Normal flows during rafting hours (0700-1100) will continue through Labor Day, with additional evening pulses to follow power demands
- Approx. 950 cfs from 7 AM - 11 AM
- 60 cfs from 11 AM - 4 PM
- Approx. 750 cfs from 4 PM - 9 PM
- 60 cfs 9 PM - 7 AM the following day
- NOTE: Monday, Sept 4th will be the last day of recreational releases for the 2023 Water Year
- Flows will be significantly reduced during daytime hours beginning on Sept 5th
Lake Eleanor
- Valve releases below Lake Eleanor remain at approx. 21 cfs
