I just spoke with PG&E, and got the following information:

Temperatures in the upper South Yuba drainage are causing more rapid than anticipated runoff.

-- Spaulding is likely to spill about 200 cfs on Monday, May 19 and maybe into the week. The spill MIGHT make the Emmigrant Gap reach, below the Bowman-Spaulding road, runnable. This is a steep, class V++ run with several (many?) portages. See Dreamflows for actual flow information.

If you paddle this run, please fill out the on-line FERC Relicensing Recreational Flow survey, available on the American Whitewater website.

Thanks,

The current spill of ~250 cfs could continue into this weekend depending on upper basin runoff and thunderstorm activity.
