There is a large tree that has fallen from the river-left bank and protrudes about 2/3 of the way across the river. Specifically, the tree is just above the footbridge that provides access to Middle Fork Ranch upstream from Gasquet, CA. The tree/obstruction is easily avoidable on the river-right side but may pose problems for a novice or unwary boater. The obstruction was present as of 2-3-10 and will probably remain until the next high-water event.

On or around 2-27-10 the tree washed downstream and broke apart. There are a few remnants lodged downstream but do not seem to pose any threats to boaters.
