Post List Table
The first line may provide information on which river or geographical area the topic refers to. For instance, it may say Posted to flow site: So. Yuba - At Hwy 49 Bridge or Posted to area: CA - East Fork Carson River. To specify the correct value for this field when you start a new topic, enter the bulletin board via the relevant flow report page, as described by the Flow Reports to Bulletin Board Interface help page.
The first line of the table also provides links to adjacent topics in the current forum. Prev Topic takes you to the previous (older) topic. Next Topic takes you to the next (newer) topic.
The first field of a given post - Author - tells you who posted the message. Click on the displayed Username to visit the author's profile.
The second field - message - is divided into two or more lines.
The first line tells you when it was posted, and the post subject if there is one. By default the post time is presented in relative format (e.g. 4 hours ago or Mar 27, 2007). However, you may change the displayed format to absolute (e.g. Mar 27, 2007 7:21 pm) by editing your profile. On the right side, special icons will show you what operations you may perform. Which operations are available depends on whether you're logged in, whether the post was made by you, and whether it's the last post in the topic:
The second line of the message is the message itself. If the message has been edited, only the latest version is displayed (for that matter, only the latest version is available).
If the message has been edited, then a third line is displayed, reporting how many times the message has been edited, the last person to do so, and when.
For your convenience, the last line of the table repeats the Prev Topic and Next Topic links of the first line.

Just to the right of the above icons is a link back to the forums page. To the right of that, after the -> symbol, is a link to the top of the first page of the current forum (i.e. to the most recent topic). To the right of that, after the second -> symbol, is a link to the top of the first page of the current topic (i.e. to the first post).
