Merced River

A rare experience ... Kevin Swearingen running the spillway below McSwain Lake.  During work on the dam, one of the gates was left open about four feet, providing just enough room to easily slip under.  The water going down the ramp was only a few inches deep, so the hydraulic at the bottom was easy to negotiate.  Everyone in the group ran this drop many times before they closed the gate - what a hoot!  - Photo: Dave Gordon
