South Fork Silver Creek ("South Silver")

Everything you see here is Plastic Surgery, and it's a magnificent rapid. It comes
in two halves, separated by the short pool with the green and blue boats. Downsides
to the rapid are a couple of surprisingly greedy holes in the first half, and a number of
submerged projections in the steep ramp in the second half. The holes do their best to
detain, while bumping down the ramp can cause extreme discomfort to your back ... or butt.
While most runs end well, those that don't tend to be memorable. - Photo: Cindy Seibel
