Wyoming Alphabetical Listing

The following is a list of all reaches/runs served by all Wyoming flow sites currently reported by Dreamflows.  It is sorted alphabetically by River/Stream name, then logically by River Reach/Run and Gauge Location.

Note that, in general, the flow on any given run will differ to some extent from the flow reported by its corresponding gauge, and for runs marked the difference is likely to be radical.  (The flow color-coding scheme takes these differences into account, so the color-coding is still valid even if an entry has a icon next to it).  Please consult a good white-water guidebook for information on how to estimate the actual flow on any given run.  Click on the link in the Gauge Location column for more detailed reach/run information, on the link in the Most Recent Flow column for more detailed flow information, or on in the Graph column to get a recent flow graph.  See the bottom of this page for information on color coding and special terms.

Key to colors

Note: color-coded flow ranges are very subjective, particularly with respect to craft type, so be sure to consult a guidebook before selecting a run to paddle.  Also, pay particular attention if multiple flow sites report flows for a particular reach.  If one flow site shows Green while another shows Red (say) for the same reach, look at the applicable Composite map (accessible from the Cross-Listing page) to determine which applies best.

This page uses the following color-coded flows:

 Color  Meaning
15Dreamflows doesn't have enough information to assign an appropriate color code.
15The river/stream at the gauge is currently frozen, so no reliable flow readings are available.
15Flow is generally considered "Low".  This does not necessarily mean too low to run safely - many reaches are routinely run at flows that are generally considered "Low".
15Flow is generally considered "Good".  Note that's a hugely subjective term, depending on craft type and much else besides.  It's also a vague term: to some paddlers it means the range of "fun flows", to others the range at which they found it physically possible (though not necessarily safe or even fun) to run the river.  Dreamflows displays "fun flows" where known, otherwise whatever values are available.
15Flow is generally considered "High".  This does not necessarily mean too high to run safely - many reaches are routinely run at flows that are generally considered "High".

Key to Most Recent Flow special terms

 Term  Meaning
Site not operational  This site is currently not reporting data.
No recent data  Most recent data is more than 7 days old.
Equip  Gauge is experiencing an equipment malfunction.
ART  The reported gauge height is Above the top of the current Rating Table.
BRT  The reported gauge height is Below the bottom of the current Rating Table.
Low  The Dreamflows estimate for this flow site is below the model's lower limit.
High  The Dreamflows estimate for this flow site is above the model's upper limit.
