Topic List Table

This table lists all the topics currently belonging to the selected forum, grouped in pages of up to 20 entries each.

The icons in the first (far left) field have the following meanings:

IconMeaning
If you're effectively logged in, this means the topic is active but has no unread posts.

If you're not logged in, it means only that the topic is active (the Last Post column tells you the age of the last post).

If you're effectively logged in, this means the topic is active and has at least one unread post.

If you're not logged in, this icon will never show.

If you're effectively logged in, this means the topic is locked, and has no unread posts.

If you're not logged in, it means only that the topic is locked.

If you're effectively logged in, this means the topic is locked, but has at least one unread post.

If you're not logged in, this icon will never show.

Topic gives the subject line of the topic, as provided by the author.

Author tells you who started the topic.  Click on the displayed userName to visit the author's profile.

Replies tells you how many replies have been posted to the original topic.  Note that counting starts at zero - this is the number of replies, not the total number of posts.

Views tells you how many times the topic has been visited.  It's a measure of the topic's popularity - though this isn't necessarily a measure of its relevance to you.

Last Post does three things.  First, it tells you when the most-recent post was made.  By default this is presented in relative format (e.g. 4 hours ago or Mar 27, 2007).  However, you may change the displayed format to absolute (e.g. Mar 27, 2007 7:21 pm) by editing your profile.  The second piece of information is who made the most-recent post.  Click on the displayed userName to visit the poster's profile.  Lastly, clicking on takes you to the most recent post in this topic.

The term effectively logged in means that you're either logged in to Dreamflows, or Dreamflows can grant you access based on a cookie that was set the last time you were logged in.  See the paragraph on Computer Access on the profile help page for more information.

Locked Topics

When a topic is locked, it means you can read posts, but you can't post new messages to the topic, nor can you edit or delete your existing posts in that topic.  A topic may be locked for one of two reasons:

Read/Unread Topics

A given topic is considered unread if it contains one or more posts that have been created or edited by someone else, and you haven't read it yet.  Assuming you're effectively logged in to Dreamflows, unread topics will be displayed with either or next to them.  When you visit (and hopefully read) the topic, the status automatically changes to or as appropriate.  Hover over the icon to display a short informational message (called a tooltip).

To manually over-ride the current read/unread status, click on the icon.  The status will toggle, and the icon (and tooltip) will change to match.

Special Links

If you want to post a new topic to this forum, click on the New Topic icon at the top (or bottom) of the topic list.  Please be sure you're currently in the correct forum, though.

Just to the right of the New Topic icon is a link back to the forums page.  To the right of that, after the -> symbol, is a link to the top of the first page of this topic list.
