I live in colfax and have paddled the Bear more then I can count. I have never had any problems. However, I was taking out the other day and met up with a lady. She was making a fuss over weather or not I had "permission" to be there. I was friendly and she did not mind. A smile and good attitude go a long way. However, if it ever does become an issue, the Campground is less then a mile further down streem.
