Protect American River Canyons (PARC) has arranged for State Parks to open the China Bar access to the new Pump Station rapids, starting March 23, on weekends only. Previously, access had been closed until Memorial day. Parking is available close to the river at Birdsall location, allowing for park and play at the rapids just upstream. Flow there is the sum of North Fork plus Middle Fork Oxbow release from 9 hrs earlier.
China Bar road is off of Maidu Drive between Auburn-Folsom Rd and Pacific Ave.
