Bill Deitchman of CA State Parks writes as follows:

"Please be advised that there is a large cottonwood tree on river left that has just come down at the north end of North Beach at Marshall Gold Discovery SHP.  At today’s flow of 1800 cfs there is plenty of room for boaters to see and to get around the tree.  However, at lower flows, the tree would be somewhat in the main channel flow and at higher flows may be difficult to see.  We are aware of the tree and will address the problem as soon as possible.  Please share this information with anyone who may be boating on the South Fork in the near future."
