My friends and I went to run the Silver Fork on Saturday 4/6/13 but the gate on Silver Fork Road was locked. There was a handwritten note dated 4/2/13 that said that the road was closed since some potholes needs to be repaired and some rocks needed to be removed from the road. The note had the forest service phone number of 530-644-2324 on it. You may want to call that number to check on road conditions before going.

I called the forest service today and the gate has been opened and the Silver Fork Road is open to a point three miles above the China Flat campground.
