| Dec. 31st At 8:00 A.M. In Gasquet
Sunrise: 7:43 A.M. Sunset: 4:53 P. M.
The Air Temperature Was 44 Degrees!
The Water Temperature At The N.F. Confluence Was 47 Degrees!
And The Smith River Was At (12 Feet 10 Inches) At 8:00 A.M. Today,
On The Gauge (On The Big Pipes) At The Water Treatment Plant,
At The Confluence Of The North And Middle Fork Of The River!
 (The River‘s At A Fairly High Level To Raft Or Kayak On Today!)

The N.F. Of The Smith River Dropped 2 Feet 8 Inches!
From 8:00 A.M. Yesterday To 8:00 A.M. Today!
And There Was .30 Of An Inch Of Precipitation!
From 8:00 A.M. Yesterday To 8:00 A.M. Today!
There Is A 20% Chance Of Rain Expected Today!
And There Is A 60% Chance Of Rain Expected Tonight!

So With Little Rain Expected Today & Some Rain Expected Tonight!
The River Level Will Drop Some Today! & May Drop Some Tonight!
(And The River May Still Be At A Fairly High Level For Boating Tomorrow!)
THE ROAD TO THE NORTH FORK OF THE SMITH IS OPEN!
Monday Dec. 29th I Rode My 650 Kawasaki Motorcycle Up Gasquet Mountain,
In The Pouring Down Rain, To See If The Snow Had Melted Enough To Finally Be Able
To Get To The Put In, On The N. F. Of The Smith, & I Made It There Without Any Trouble At All!
There Were Patches Of Snow Here & There! But Nothing To Bad For A Two Wheel Drive To Be Able To Handle!
And There Has Been No Snowfall On The Road To The North Fork Smith, Put In, Since Then!
My Truck’s In The Shop And I Have No Way To Keep The Road Open Now!
I Am Putting In A Super Heavy Duty Clutch And Automatic Positive Locking Differentials!
(So That I Will Have A Real True Four Wheel Drive Truck!)
And I Am Going To Put A Good Winch, On The Front Of My Truck, As Well!
When My Truck Is Fixed It Will Be More Capable Of Keeping The Road Open!
