In association with National Public Lands Day the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, California Department of Transportation, California Department of Fish & Game, and The Watershed Center will be hosting the annual clean up of the Trinity River and State Highway 299. Are you interested in volunteering with our clean up effort? If so, WE NEED AND WELCOME YOU!!!
The cleanup will include activities such as floating the river in rafts, canoes, kayaks, as well as walking along the highway, beaches and river bars to pick up trash and debris. Walking on rocky, uneven surfaces and some lifting of heavy objects may be involved. However, you can select a level of activity to suit your individual needs or preferences.
The Forest Service and other sponsors along with our partnering outfitter-guides, will be joining to make your day a fun and rewarding one. Safety instruction and equipment will be provided.
In appreciation of your volunteer efforts a free barbeque and raffle will be provided at Skunk Point Campground, in the community of Big Flat on Highway 299. Plan to be there by 3:00 P.M.
