| The Pit River below Pit #5 dam will see boatable flows of up to 1,800 cfs on Tuesday, Oct 11, 2011. PG&E will fulfill federal requirements when they test the gates at the Pit #5 dam. Flows will rise over 6 to 8 hours before dawn, be held steady at about 1800 cfs for 6 to 8 hours then gradually drop back to 350 cfs base flow over 6 to 8 hours.
This gate test was rescheduled from October 3.
The Pit 5 reach has an upper class 5 section and a lower class 3 section. See:
