Yesterday, Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reported as follows:

"As of today, access is limited by the Forest Service due continuing effects of the Rim Fire.  Public access to the Main Tuolumne/Merals Pool launch on Lumsden Road (1N10) as well as the Upper Tuolumne/Cherry Creek launch at Holm Powerhouse off of Cherry Lake Road (1N07) is limited to shuttle service only: 1-209-559-4605.  A permit is required to float between Cherry Creek and Merals Pool and from Merals Pool to Ward's Ferry.  Free permits can be picked up at the Groveland Ranger Station during business hours.  The following link has additional details on the restrictions:

http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/stanislaus/recreation/wateractivities/recarea/?recid=14975&actid=79

There is scheduled maintenance April 15 at Holm Powerhouse - no extra generation is scheduled for this day.  Expect ~250 cfs in the Tuolumne.

Lake Eleanor is currently spilling at 220 cfs, and is expected to continue at this level tomorrow.  To manage lake levels, HHWP will increase valve releases to 600 cfs on Saturday, April 12, for 6-10 hours.  Ramping up and down will be between the hours of 9AM and 5PM.  We expect Eleanor spill to drop after the increased release.  Tuesday we will install the stop logs, which will further reduce spill.

The table below shows the days and times HHWP is scheduled to generate at Holm Powerhouse.  As always, unanticipated events may reduce or eliminate generation.  All generation times will be at full capacity: 950 cfs from Holm PH.  An additional 35 cfs is being released from Hetch Hetchy, 12 from Eleanor, and 5 from Cherry.

Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reported yesterday (Wednesday) as follows:

"We are ending 24 hour generation today, May 21.  Thursday and Friday, and Tuesday through Friday next week we are generating between 7AM and 11PM.  Over the coming long weekend we will go back to 24 hour generation.  We anticipate varied boatable hours from now until June 16, as we maximize generation efficiency.  During this period, we will extend generation for variable durations to either side of the recreational flows.  Starting June 16, we are planning on limiting generation to the recreational flows (7AM - 11AM).

Hetch Hetchy Water and Power has released the summer release schedule (posted at http://www.dreamflows.com/Pages/TuolumneSchedule.php.  This schedule describes planned releases at Holm Powerhouse for end of May, June, July and August.  Note that June 11 is the first no water Wednesday of the season.  There will be no boatable flows that day.  Powerhouse outages and other unanticipated events may result in curtailments of releases.  Additional generation may occur throughout this period, likely extending boatable hours, or increasing in stream flow rates.  Releases for May, and extension of boatable hours through the summer will be described in this and future emails.

Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reports as follows:

"Rafting People!

One unit at Holm Powerhouse went down this morning at 7AM.  We are sending people up to fix the problem, but do not expect a solution for at least 2 hours.  Rafting flows may not occur at all today, depending on how the repairs go.  We will generate full with one unit, and expect flows to stay at 550 cfs in Cherry Creek, and 625 cfs in the Tuolumne River.

We do not anticipate this problem extending to tomorrow, but will let you know as the repairs progress."
