|

| Today the Mokelumne River Ecological Resource Committee (ERC) and PG&E determined boating days for Devil’s Nose. In an effort to comply with requests from the ERC that PG&E manage releases at Salt Springs to avoid spilling during Spring runoff, pulse flows are planned for the beginning of May. These pulse flows for either a Below Normal or Above Normal water year type will provide extra opportunity for paddling during a 5 day period on Devil’s Nose. Big thanks go out to PG&E Mokelumne Generation Supervisor, Chris Bennett and PG&E hydrologist Kevin Richards for working with the ERC to shape 3 additional recreational flow days for Devil’s Nose. Note** Flows on Devil’s Nose are still subject to final approval by the USFS and some flows are subject to change in dates. (I’ll keep folks posted if anything changes)
North Fork Mokelumne River Devil's Nose Cls IV-V
Saturday April 30 – PG&E will begin ramp up for anticipated pulse flows. Expected flows at Salt Springs (PG&E Gauge M11) will reach 900 cfs.
Sunday May 1 – PG&E will shape a recreational flow from dam release and accretion to target no more than 2000 cfs above Tiger Creek Afterbay (PG&E Gauge M38) from 10 am to 4 pm.
Monday May 2 - Friday May 6 – PG&E will release the required 5 days of pulse flow. If it is an Above Normal Water year they will release 1800 cfs at Salt Springs (PG&E Gauge M11) and if it is Below Normal 1238 cfs. Please keep in mind at the higher flows that accretion will likely kick the flows above the Tiger Creek Afterbay (PG&E Gauge M38) well above 2500 cfs.
Saturday May 7 & Sunday May 8 – PG&E will shape recreational flow from dam release and accretion to target no more than 2000 cfs above Tiger Creek Afterbay (PG&E Guage M38) from 10 am to 4 pm.
