Just down stream of eagle creek campground and a few yards above the eagle creek confluence the river has changed corse to the right. The resulting junky rapid would be class 3 if it didn't have four or five trees with all there branches almost all the way across the river on the right. I don't think we saw the trees until in the rapid. There is an easy portage on left when you see that the river changed and at our flow (600cfs) it wasn't to hard to get over to the left and go around the logs. That said I wouldn't want to get flipped on the sallow rocks and end up in the trees.

With a 1000cfs or more you can go far left through the original river channel with no trees

with 600 we could still run the left but it was very scrappy and almost a boat drag. It's better than the portage though.
