Periodically the Edison gauges for the San Joaquin reaches go offline or report erroneous readings. That is what is happening right now. I have a message into Edison to fix the problem, but generally it will take a few days.
In the present case the tip off is that the readings are jumping up and down much more rapidly you would expect even on a dam controlled river. Once I saw that, I checked the other Edison gauges and saw that they all started acting weird similarly at exactly the same time. Pretty good clue that there is a systemic problem.
Once the readings settle down again, we will know that the problem has been fixed.
