launch: 5/10/06, grave cr.
take out: 5/12/06 foster bar
level: 5100 cfs
weather: low 80's, clear skies, slight down canyon breeze
2 -14" sotars, 3-people' 2-dogs
Besides forgeting some seasonings, the all important camp table, and a dish washing sponge the trip was close to perfect. Didn't see any one camping. Saw one hiking group support raft doing the lodge thing. No bears, besides, the bear enclosures were not operational. The SCAT machine worked on the first try. No trash dumpster there. Had to use the Eden Valley shuttle ( 125.00), so add 1.5 senic hrs. The middle chute on Rainie Falls blended in with the main falls, so we did the fish latter. Most of the class 2 stuff was washed out, but upper Black Bar was good and Blossum Bar was great. I ran left and made the ferry right move and my son Matt powered straight the hole over picket fence. Nice long rapid with big waves.
