Feb. 16th At 8:00 A.M. In Gasquet Sunrise: 7:09 A.M. Sunset: 5:49 P. M. The Air Temperature Was 43 Degrees! The Water Temperature At The N.F. Confluence Was 42 Degrees! And The Smith River Was At (9 Feet 0 Inches) At 8:00 A.M. Today, On The Gauge (On The Big Pipes) At The Water Treatment Plant, At The Confluence Of The North And Middle Fork Of The River! (The River Is At A Fairly Good Level To Kayak On Today!) (But It Is Still At A Low Level To Raft On Today!) (See The Dreamflows Daily Flows Graph Below!) http://www.dreamflows.com/graphs/day.162.php The N.F. Of The Smith River Fell 1 Inch! From 8:00 A.M. Yesterday To 8:00 A.M. Today! And There Was .09 Of An Inch Of Precipitation! From 8:00 A.M. Yesterday To 8:00 A.M. Today! There Is A 70% Chance Of Rain Expected For Today! And There Is A 50% Chance Of Rain Expected Tonight! (According To The N.O.A.A. Report At 8:00 A.M.) At http://www.nws.noaa.gov/ So With Some Rain Expected Today! & Little Rain Expected Tonight! The River Level Will Raise Some Today! & Will Drop Some Tonight! (And The River Will Be At A Good Level For Kayaking Again Tomorrow!) (And Hopefully The Rain Melts Some Of The Snow Up The Mountain!) THE ROAD TO THE NORTH FORK OF THE SMITH IS CLOSED! And You Need A Really Big Four Wheel Drive Truck Today! To Be Able To Get There! A Friend Of Mine And I Drove Up Rowdy Creek Road! And We Made Fresh Tracks To The Dirt To The ½ Way Point River Overlook And There Was 30 Inches Of Packed Snow On The Road We Also Had To Put Chains On All 4 Tires Yesterday! And We Got My Truck Back Out Of The Road! I Had To Use My Winch And A Snatch Block To Get My Truck Unstuck! While We Were There Getting My Truck!! Another Four Wheel Drive Truck Without Any Tire Chains On Drove Up To Where We Were And Then He Got Stuck! And We Had To Pull Him Out Also And Then We All Drove Back On Out And Then Back On Home! I Will Drive The Road Again Soon! And Try To Get The Road Open To The North Fork Put In! But I Need To Wait Until The Snow Melts A Little Bit, So I Can Do It With Out Getting Myself Stuck Again! And Having To Walk Even Farther! To Get Out, Than I Did On Saturday In The Knee Deep Snow! (Shuttle Provider) Bearfoot Brad

THE ROAD TO THE NORTH FORK OF THE SMITH IS CLOSED! And You Need A Really Big Four Wheel Drive Truck Today! To Be Able To Open Up The Road! In The Untracked Snow! A Friend Of Mine And I Drove Up Rowdy Creek Road! On Sunday The 15th, And We Made Fresh Tracks To The Dirt! To The ½ Way Point River Overlook! There Was 30 Inches Of Packed Snow On The Road! And We Had Snow Chains On All 4 Tires! And We Had To Use My Winch! And A Snatch Block! To Get My Truck Unstuck! While We Were Getting My Truck! A Four Wheel Drive Truck Without Chains On! Or A Shovel With Him! Came To Where I Was Stuck! And He Got Stuck! And We Pulled Him Out Also!
I Will Drive The Road Again Soon! And Try To Get The Road Open To The North Fork Of The Smith River To The Put In! But I Need To Wait Until The Snow Melts A Little Bit! Feb. 18th At 8:00 A.M. In Gasquet Sunrise: 7:06A.M. Sunset: 5:52 P. M. The Air Temperature Was 37 Degrees! The Water Temperature At The N. F. Confluence Was 37 Degrees! And The Smith River Was At (8 Feet 11 Inches) At 8:00 A.M. Of The Smith River Fell 2 Inches! From 8:00 A.M. Yesterday To 8:00 A.M. Today! And There Was .02 Of An Inch Of Precipitation! From 8:00 A.M. Yesterday To 8:00 A.M. Today! There Is A 0% Chance Of Rain Expected For Today! And There Is A 0% Chance Of Rain Expected Tonight! (According To The N.O.A.A. Report At 8:00 A.M.) At http://www.nws.noaa.gov/ So With No Rain Expected For Today! & No Rain Expected Tonight! The River Level Will Drop Some Today! & Will Drop Some Tonight! (And The River Will Be At A Fairly Good Level For Kayaking Tomorrow!)
THE ROADS TO THE NORTH FORK OF THE SMITH ARE OPEN!
I Drove Up Gasquet Mountain To High Divide Yesterday Afternoon! And At High Divide I Started Following Truck Tracks In The Snow Towards The North Fork Put In! And I Was About ¾ Of The Way There, When I Came To A Road Grader On It’s Way Out From The North Fork Put In! And I Told Them That It Was Good To See Them But I Sure Wish That I Had Seen Them 3 Days Ago When I Got Stuck Up Here, And Had To Walk Out! And They Said It Was A Pretty Severe Today, For Them Also! That They Got Stuck 4 Times! And Had To Dig Them Self’s Out In Their 4 Wheel Drive Truck Going In To Major Moors, Where They Had Left The Grader Parked! And Then I Continued On To The Put In! And I Moved 107 Rocks Out Of The Way That The Grader Had Unearthed! And Blasted Through The Wall Of Snow While It Was Still Soft, From Being Just Dug Up! Some Parts Of The Wall As High 59 Inches That The Grader Left Behind! And They Were Blocking All Of The Turnouts, That Allow On Coming Cars To Get Past Each Other! So I Blasted Through Them All, And Opened Them All Back Up! And I Created Two Lanes! One On My Way Down, And One Coming Back On My Way Out! So Now The Low Divide Road Has Been Plowed By The Grader To The Bare Dirt! And I Opened Gasquet Mountain Road To The Bare Dirt Coming In And Going Out! 2 Lanes Wide Where I Could! And I Didn’t Even Have To Put On My Snow Chains To Do It! Gasquet Mountain Road Still Has Packed Snow Between My Tire Tracks 11 Inches Deep! So If You Do Not Have A Four Wheel Drive Truck! You May Need To Go Up Low Divide Road, Or Rowdy Creek Road, To Get To The N. F. Put In! (Shuttle Provider) Bearfoot Brad
