| Paul and I had an epic on the Lower New, at 1500-2000 CFS the gorge was extremely pushy, committing and dangerous. The Dreamflows estimate for the New at Denny was around 900. Since I had done this run before at 800 I should have trusted the bad feeling I felt when I saw it was higher and not put on. Anyway, use caution, particularly in the winter, more than any other run I have seen this river gets MUCH scarier at high water.

| After thinking about Ben and Paul's adventure, and going through the historical data again, I've come to the conclusion that trying to estimate flow on the New River this time of year is a bad idea. So I've taken the New estimates off the reports for winter.
The New estimate will however be back again April though June, when the estimating model appears to be good.
